How many of us have binders of lessons just sitting in our cabinets waiting to be thumbed through for the first time in years? How many of us have supplemented or stopped using pre-packaged units altogether in favor of resources that we have found/created ourselves? How do we share lessons now: a link, a word document handout, a powerpoint, an inspiration file, a smartboard notebook file, or a podcast? There is something valuable, almost refreshing, about creating something from scratch and then having others use it in their classrooms. This is the process that we hope to capitalize on in this section of the wiki. In this section you will be able to write up your great lessons directly onto these pages or you can embed your ideas using one the four following services:
The DigiEd Delicious Account: This account will allow us to collect all of the websites that are of the most interest to Digital Educators. Using delicious will also allow you to collect all of your bookmarks on the internet so that you can connect to them from any computer. In order to add links to your own collection or to the DigiEd collection, head over to http://del.icio.us/ and click the "register" button in the top right corner. Sign-up and then install the firefox extension. Now, anytime you go to a webpage that you want to save, click on the "Tag This" button next to the home button in your toolbar. It will tell you to describe the site and tag it. Tagging is just a way for you to categorize the site in terms that you will remember later. So tag it with as many terms as you want, but if you want it to go into the DigiEd collection, make sure you tag it with "for:digied". This will automatically put your link into your collection and our collection at the same time. Have fun with this one. It is awesome.
